morning wake up call

My first wake up call is around 4am or 5am when james wakes up. Thanks God I still b reastmilk. So when I breastfeed james lying down next to me in the bed he goes back to sleep.

The next wake up call is between 7am to 7.30am when christian walks in to our room. Sometimes we are lucky christian sleeps a bit longer and doesnt come in until 8am (but that is rare). It is also rare when he comes in aroung 6am coz we told him he must get up from bed at 7am. So he comes in says hi, good morning and asks "is it seven o'clock now?".

lesson from an orchid

My dear friend mary gave me a purple orchid on my birthday in july 2005. Its blossoms lasted a bit over four months. The following year (2006) it flowered again and this time it had two stalks with about 7 to 9 flowers on each stalk. I felt offering them to the the blessed sacrament but thought oh, maybe I only give one stalk and keep one stalk for me. However, ancient wisdom came to me that " I should offer them all. Indeed, that's what I did.

The next year Aug (2007) it flowered and there were 2 stalks again. Amazing, the two stalks didn't stop flowering. old flowers withered but new buds come out until 2008. I was amazed that God blessed my orchids because I gave all my orchid flowers last year to Him. One day I moved it (around July 2008) and i didn't realize it was soaking in water and the orchid had died.

Simple lesson. Indeed the Lord God did bless my orchid but I made a mistake. In life, God does so many divine intervention but there are things that are left for us to take care ourselves.

We often makes mistakes by accident or wrong decisions or wrong choices or due to poor judgment. We must pray for wisdom and pray to be led always on the righteousness of God so that we will always be guided.

A quick prayer: "Ancient Spirit breath in us to direct us. Armour and the Word of God to guard us. Blood of Jesus to cover and seal us". Amen.

Andrew has been sick too

andrew has been in good health for the past 8 or 9 months (Thanks God!) but has been sick lately. His first symptoms were fever and vomitting. A few times he would say all of a sudden "my tummy....!" which means his tummy hurts. A bit scary at first coz his heartbeat seems faster when he has high temp (e.g. from 38 to over 39). I took him to the doctor and he had a little bit of ear and throat infection. He got better soon after he started his antibiotics. I took him the the doctor for followup check 2 days ago and he still has a bit of ear infection.

For a mother like me (and I think as for every mother), it is tough when a child gets sick. As I have been a bit sick too it is really tough physically n emotionally.

This makes me ponder and realize that when everyone is in good health I should thank and praise God each day coz health is so precious. Yes, divine health is a great blessing and yet we often forget to thank God of this.

james immunizaion

James had his 6 months immunization two days ago. He was amazing! He did not cry at this first needle that hit him on his left leg. At the second needle on the right leg he whimpered a bit like an "aaaayyyyyhhhh" sound but no tears. The doctor carried him around the medical centre and told everyone with glee that he never cried. He is a very brave boy. For his 2nd and 4th month immunisation he only cried a bit and stopped before we got out of the doctors room.

At 6 months he was sick for the first time. He had a bit of diarrhea and high fever. Gee, he had fever for a few days but when he got to 38 or 39 he never cries. But he does get restless and could not sleep. I gave him baths when his fever is so high and that cools him quickly. Panadol takes at least 30 mins to cool him down so a dip for a few minutes in a lukewarm water is the best.

Thanks God and glory and praise to Him. He is better now and in good health again.

my little man

christian is so smart and talks like an old man. Funny in a lot of ways. I've been sickly due to my sore throat for a few weeks now. I feel down and sore so I tell him "mama throat's a bit sore and I'm tired". And with all confidence he would put his arm around me and hug me and say "don't worry mum I'm here to look after you". Oh, its really very sweet everytime he says that.

Today Paul took andrew and christian out to the shops. As they were all waving to me, christian said "have a good day mum and look after james". He talks to other people that he's never met before like a big man. Occasionally he gets a bit snubbish though and doesn't talk to some people that we even know.

christian's tantrums has mellowed down

Christian's tantrum has mellowed down dramatically ever since Paul and I take turns in sleeping next to him in the big bed. I think there is catching up going on here. I mean he is bonding to us more in this way. Poor christian's world has been turned upside down with arrival of other 2 brothers and has taken a lot of our time. Hence the probable reason we had behaviour problems with him.

Andrew is scared of 2 things

Storms and siren. These are the 2 things andrew is so scared of. If a storm happens to be at night he would wake up and cry and we pick him up and let him sleep with us in our bed. I love it cuddling to my chubby baby though paul doesn't like it. I find it annoying that he doesnt like any of our babies sleeping in bed with us. I thing babies should be as closest as can be to their parents esp to mothers.

If andrew hears a siren during the day he is not so perturbed about it but if at night, he cries.

Christian wasn't like it at all. I think he is a b rave boy. When he was only 2 months old he was sleeping in another bedroon on his own up until he was 3 yrs and a half. Now he shares his room with andrew.
